Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino says that recent Newcastle United signing Joelinton has the ability to succeed in the Premier League.

Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino has claimed that Newcastle United striker Joelinton has "everything" to succeed in the Premier League.

The two Brazilians have shared a similar career path, enjoying a stint with Hoffenheim before moving to England's top flight.

Having enjoyed a hugely successful period at the Merseyside giants, Firmino feels that summer arrival Joelinton can do the same during his time at St James' Park.

The playmaker is quoted by the Liverpool Echo as saying: "It's always good to be able to face Brazilian players here in Europe.

"It's nice to see so many being successful. Joelinton is one of them. Like me, he left Brazil early and went to Hoffenheim, and now he's here playing the Premier League.

"For his style of play, he has everything to make it work. But don't come and have fun on Saturday."

Ahead of the weekend's Premier League clash between the two clubs, Joelinton had contributed one goal from his first four top-flight outings.
