John Carver unsure where points will come from

Newcastle United boss John Carver admits that he does not know where the club's next points are coming from, given their recent form.

Newcastle United manager John Carver has admitted that he does not know where the club's next points will be coming from following their Wear-Tyne derby defeat.

The Magpies lost to rivals Sunderland for the fifth game running on Sunday, as Jermain Defoe gave the Black Cats a 1-0 victory at the Stadium of Light.

Carver believes that his side are not out of relegation danger just yet.

"We've only got 35 points, you need 40 points," he told the Shields Gazette.

"We've got seven games left, and we are down to the bare bones. You are thinking where the next points are coming from, but we have to turn this around somehow."

Carver has won just two of his 13 games in charge of Newcastle.
