Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew warns his players that they may have to overcome a "hostile" atmosphere when they take on Metalist Kharkiv in Ukraine this evening.

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew does not believe that his side will have difficulty in dealing with the crowd in their game against Metalist Kharkiv.

The Magpies have made the trip to Ukraine for the return leg of the Europe League last-32 clash following last week's 0-0 draw at St James' Park.

Pardew, 51, said that there is enough experience within his ranks to rise to the challenge of playing in a potentially "hostile" atmosphere.

"The atmosphere will probably be the first time we really experience a hostile crowd in this competition," Pardew told NUFC.co.uk.

"But we have players who have played on the international stage and are used to that scenario, so I don't envisage a problem.

"If I put my best team up against any team in this competition, I would feel confident."

The winner of this evening's encounter will play either Anzhi Makhachkala or Hannover in the next round.
