Palermo owner Maurizio Zamparini has claimed that Edinson Cavani has left Napoli to join Paris Saint-Germain.
Zamparini, who sold the Uruguay international to Napoli in 2010, told Rome radio station Radio Radio that he believes that the striker will be confirmed as a PSG player soon.
The 72-year-old claimed that he has congratulated Napoli chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis on his negotiating skills, saying that he has outdone his deal to sell Javier Pastore to the French giants in 2011.
"I have texted De Laurentiis to congratulate him on doing even better than I did [while dealing with PSG]," Zamparini said. "He has outdone the €43m (£37m) that we got for Javier Pastore when we sold him to PSG.
"De Laurentiis had to make this deal, he did well to say that he wanted a transfer fee like this.
"Cavani is a unique player. He couldn't stay at Napoli because he has to think about his career and PSG are offering him €8m (£7m) per year."
Cavani has been chased by a host of European sides this summer, including Manchester City, Chelsea and Real Madrid.
