Rafael Benitez has admitted that he wants to keep Edinson Cavani at Napoli.
The Uruguayan has been linked with a move away from the Serie A side, with Manchester City among those interested in the striker.
While being presented to the media as Napoli coach for the first time, the Spaniard said: "I spoke with Cavani, he's a very good player and very important for us.
"He is with us, [although] he is doing his work in another tournament at the moment, I hope to see him here. We are waiting to see what he decides."
The club's president, Aurelio de Laurentiis, has indicated that City are not willing to meet the £54m release clause in Cavani's contract.
