Napoli goalkeeper Pepe Reina has said that his team lacked humility in their shock loss at Bologna this afternoon.
The Partenopei could have returned to the top of the Serie A table, but they slipped to a 3-2 defeat against their unfancied opponents.
"We did not start the game with the right humility," Reina told Sky Sport Italia. "We conceded two goals in the opening 20 minutes, something that is extremely rare. When we started playing better, there was my mistake that cost us the game.
"The coach had spoken to us at half time and said it only needed a goal to re-open the game, but unfortunately my mistake was crucial. At the end two magic shots from Gonzalo Higuain gave us hope, but it was not enough to avoid defeat.
"In order to stay top of the table, we need to mature. The game with Inter was six days ago and should not have influenced our performance here. That win probably made us lose some of the humility we'd been talking about. A setback can happen, but the important thing is to stand up again and continue working."
Napoli will return to league action next weekend with a clash against Roma at the Stadio San Paolo.
