Napoli coach Walter Mazzari confirms that he will leave the Serie A club this summer.

Napoli coach Walter Mazzarri has confirmed that he will leave the Serie A club this summer.

The 51-year-old, who has been with the Partenopei since 2009, took charge of the side for the final time on Sunday as they went down 2-1 at Roma in the league.

Despite the defeat, Napoli finished the season in second place in the table behind champions Juventus.

"My future won't be here," Mazzarri told Sky Italia. "I want to thank all those who have been close to me in these last four years.

"I thought of having a lot of respect to have avoided announcing this earlier. I tried to get Napoli as high as possible and, if I would have spoken before, there probably would have been problems."

Outgoing Chelsea interim manager Rafael Benitez has emerged as an early contender to replace Mazzarri at Napoli.
