Rafael Benitez: 'Napoli can catch Juventus'

Napoli coach Rafael Benietez says that his side can bridge the 13-point gap between themselves and Serie A leaders Juventus.

Rafael Benitez is adamant that his Napoli side can catch Juventus in the race for the Scudetto.

Benitez's troops beat Genoa 2-1 on Monday night to remain 13 points behind the leaders, who are vying for a fourth successive Serie A title.

It was the Partenopei's fourth victory in five games - a 3-1 defeat to Juve being the only blemish - and the Spaniard is convinced that his side can still bridge that 13-point gap.

"I am convinced that if the team plays the way we did through most of tonight, we can keep on winning," he told Sky Sport Italia.

"Confidence is growing, fitness levels are improving and in tactical terms you can see the team knows what to do.

"It is true we need to control the game a little better when we are in front and don't take our chances to kill it off."

Gonzalo Higuain scored in both halves, either side of Iago Falque's 56th-minute equaliser, to seal the points at Stadio San Paolo.
