Former Hibernian boss Terry Butcher has ruled himself out of the running to become the new manager of Motherwell.
The 55-year-old was understood to be one of the main candidates to succeed Stuart McCall at Fir Park.
McCall resigned from his post last month following a four-year spell in charge of the Scottish Premiership side.
Butcher, who was sacked by Hibs in June, has now asked the club not to consider him for the role.
Motherwell officials recently claimed that they were hoping to appoint a new manager before Saturday's visit of Ross County in the league.
