Preview: Motherwell vs. Celtic

Sports Mole previews high-flying Celtic's trip to face managerless Motherwell at Fir Park this weekend.

Celtic will be looking to stretch their winning run in the Scottish Premiership to seven games on the bounce this weekend when they take on managerless Motherwell.

The Hoops have recovered from a slow start to the campaign to move three points clear at the summit following their slender midweek victory over Partick Thistle.

Despite having lost just one of their last 11 games in all competitions, manager Ronny Deila still believes that his side can take their performance levels up another notch or two, starting with the trip to Fir Park on Saturday.

In contrast, Motherwell have not been on such a great run lately, sitting bottom of the current form league in the Scottish top flight with just one win in their last eight outings.

However, the Steelmen did hold the current league leaders to a respectable 1-1 draw back in September, which could have been even better if not for Kris Commons's penalty 20 minutes from time to level up.

Overall this is a fixture that Celtic have dominated down the years, winning 50 of the sides' 77 meetings with 16 of those fixtures ending all square.

Deila's complaints of his players feeling fatigued following their gruelling Europa League exploits may lead to him making some changes this weekend, with Nir Biton and Commons both pushing for starting berths having been introduced against Partick.

Motherwell, who are currently hovering two points above the relegation zone and still searching for a new manager following Stuart McCall's exit last month, will be looking to improve on a record of just two clean sheets all season, with Dan Twardzik expected to keep his place between the sticks for this one.

Motherwell:

Sports Mole says: 0-3.
