Preview: Millwall vs. Sheffield Wednesday

Sports Mole previews out-of-form Sheffield Wednesday's trip to struggling Millwall in the Championship.

Sheffield Wednesday have the chance to end their seven-game winless run in the Championship on Tuesday when they travel to struggling Millwall.

The Owls were among a handful of teams challenging for the playoffs earlier this season, but a string of disappointing results have pushed Stuart Gray's side down to 12th place in the table.

Wednesday are currently 16 points adrift of the top six and know that they must start winning matches if they want to mount a late surge up the standings.

While Tuesday's visitors are spluttering in the top half of the table, Millwall are experiencing their own problems down at the bottom.

Ian Holloway's men, who are three points adrift of safety, have lost seven of their last 11 matches in the league. However, their most recent result saw them pick up a credible goalless draw away to Fulham.

With time running out to salvage their season, the Lions are in desperate need of some points quickly if they want to keep their place in the second tier of English football.

Millwall defender Shaun Cummings remains sidelined with a groin injury, while Diego Fabbrini is expected to be available after suffering a knock against Fulham.

Jose Semedo could return for Wednesday after a spell on the sidelines, but new signing Sergiu Bus will miss the game with a groin problem. Chris Kirkland is likely to start in goal for the visitors, despite the club appealing against the red card that Keiren Westwood received during Saturday's defeat to Derby County.

Millwall:

Form in Championship: DWLWLD

Possible starting lineup: Forde; Abdou, Dunne, Hooiveld, Harding; Tonge, Williams, Woolford, Fabbrini; O'Brien, Gregory

Sheffield Wednesday:

Form in Championship: DLDLDL

Possible starting lineup: Kirkland; Hutchinson, Zayatte, Lees, Helan; Semedo, Palmer, McGugan, Maghoma; Lee, Keane

Sports Mole says: 1-2
