Nottingham Forest are interested in signing Middlesbrough winger Mustapha Carayol, according to reports.
Carayol moved to the Riverside Stadium from Bristol Rovers last season, making 21 appearances for the Championship side.
The Gambian midfielder missed the second half of the season with a knee injury, but he is expected to return for the start of next season.
According to Sky Sports News, Middlesbrough are not keen to sell the 24-year-old, but they are not in a position to reject a significant bid.
That stance could result in Forest testing the club's resolve with a bid in the next few weeks.
