Burnley's Sander Berge and Monaco's Youssouf Fofana are reportedly being considered by Manchester United as potential midfield signings before the end of the summer transfer window.
The Red Devils have been heavily linked with Paris Saint-Germain's Manuel Ugarte during the current market, but their interest in the Uruguay international has allegedly now cooled.
Berge and Fofana have both recently been linked with switches to Old Trafford, with the former said to have huge admirers at Old Trafford, while the latter has seen a potential move to AC Milan break down.
According to Sky Sports News, Man United have held initial talks with Burnley over a move for Berge, with the Norway international keen to make the move to the 20-time English champions.
However, the Clarets are not thought to be willing to drop their £30m asking price, which could prove problematic, with Erik ten Hag's side only believed to be prepared to spend £20m on him.

Man United 'hold talks' over Berge deal
Berge played for Sheffield United between 2020 and 2023, scoring 15 goals and registering 12 assists in 109 appearances, before arriving at Burnley last summer.
The 26-year-old scored twice and registered two assists in 40 appearances for the Clarets in 2023-24, but he was unable to prevent the club from dropping down to the Championship.
Fofana, meanwhile, is allegedly being tracked by Man United, with the English club said to have 'an open dialogue' with Monaco over a potential deal for the Frenchman.
The midfielder has been heavily linked with AC Milan, but the Italian giants have been unable to come to an agreement with his Ligue 1 club over a transfer fee.

Would Fofana be a good signing for Man United?
Fofana has entered the final 12 months of his contract at Monaco, so the principality outfit are not in a strong position when it comes to potential negotiations.
The 25-year-old has represented his current side on 175 occasions, scoring seven goals and registering 15 assists, while he has been capped on 21 occasions by France.
Last season, Fofana scored four goals and registered four assists in 35 appearances for Monaco, before turning out on three occasions for France at this summer's European Championship.
Man United need a midfield partner for Kobbie Mainoo, and Fofana could be the perfect signing for the Red Devils considering his skill set, which appears ideal for the Premier League.
There have been suggestions that Monaco want around €35m (£30m) for the midfielder, but if Man United can drive that price down, then he could turn out to be a very good acquisition.
