Manchester United 'end Toni Kroos pursuit'

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal reportedly backtracks on plans to sign Toni Kroos.

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has reportedly ended the club's pursuit of Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos.

The Red Devils are said to have agreed a 20m fee for the Germany international, but the Dutchman has now pulled the plug on the move, according to The Mirror.

The Kroos deal is believed to have been negotiated by former manager David Moyes, but Van Gaal is reportedly keen to take the club in a different direction to his predecessor.

United have also been linked with moves for Roma midfielder Kevin Strootman and Barcelona's Cesc Fabregas.
