Report: Tottenham Hotspur join race for Leighton Baines

Tottenham Hotspur are monitoring Leighton Baines's situation at Everton and could make a bid, according to a report.

Tottenham Hotspur are to compete with Manchester United for the signature of Leighton Baines in the January transfer window, according to a report.

The Sunday People claims that the Everton left-back has been left in limbo after his club rejected an offer from United in the summer with manager David Moyes apparently set to launch another move for the England international.

However, it has been reported that Spurs are keeping a close eye on proceedings and could be willing to make a bid with chairman Daniel Levy happy to splash the cash.

Baines joined Everton in 2007 from Wigan Athletic.
