Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says that the club are in talks with Jesse Lingard over a potential new deal.

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed that the club are in talks with Jesse Lingard and his representatives over a potential new deal at Old Trafford.

The attacker's current deal with the 20-time English champions is due to expire next June, and there have been suggestions that he could either leave in January or move on a free transfer next year, depending on how many opportunities he receives in the coming months.

Lingard has scored once in three appearances for the Red Devils this term, and Solskjaer has said that the club see the England international's future at Old Trafford.

"He's got one year left on his contract and of course the club is talking to him and his dad. We see him as a Man United player in the future as well," Solskjaer told reporters.

"Jesse has come back into us after a great spell at West Ham; he showed his qualities, he's back into the England squad, scoring goals. We really want to see the best of Jesse this season, we support him and we hope to keep him here with us, he's a red through and through."

The 28-year-old was on the scoresheet in Man United's 4-1 win over Newcastle United in the Premier League last weekend before featuring against Young Boys in the Champions League on Tuesday.
