Manchester United have reportedly informed Jadon Sancho that he will wear the iconic number seven shirt and play in his favoured position should he join from Borussia Dortmund.
The Red Devils are hoping to strike a deal with Dortmund for the England international, who remains their primary transfer target for the summer window.
United and BVB are still some way apart on their valuation of Sancho, however, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men are running out of time to meet the German club's deadline of August 10.
According to The Athletic, United are hopeful of being given an extension to sign the 20-year-old and already have plans in place as to how to best utilise his talents.
Sancho has been told that he will be used on the right of a front three, it is claimed, and he will take on the number seven shirt.
The likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, David Beckham, Eric Cantona and Bryan Robson have previously worn that shirt, which has been freed up by Alexis Sanchez's switch to Inter Milan.
