Roma are reportedly closing in on an agreement with Manchester United over a deal for Chris Smalling.
The centre-back joined the Italian giants on loan last summer and has been in impressive form during the 2019-20 campaign, making 28 appearances in all competitions.
As it stands, the 30-year-old is due to return to Old Trafford at the end of the season, but Roma have said on a number of occasions that they are keen on a permanent move.
According to Tele Radio Stereo, Paulo Fonseca's side are nearing an agreement with United which will see Smalling also spend next season on loan with the Yellow and Reds before joining on a permanent deal in the summer of 2021.
The report claims that the 20-time English champions had initially wanted €25m (£22.6m) for the defender but have agreed to sell for a figure in the region of €18m (£16.3m).
The former Fulham youngster has made 323 appearances for the Red Devils in all competitions, winning two Premier League titles, one FA Cup, one EFL Cup and the Europa League in the process.
