Report: Rafael close to Lyon move

Manchester United defender Rafael is reportedly on the verge of a move to Lyon after failing to secure regular first-team action under Louis van Gaal.

Rafael will reportedly complete a move to Lyon after becoming surplus to requirements at Manchester United.

Th Brazilian made just 11 first-team appearances under Louis van Gaal last season, and did not travel with the squad to America for their pre-season tour.

According to French publication L'Equipe, a deal between United and Lyon is very close, with a medical expected to take place in the coming days.

The 25-year-old joined United along with twin brother Fabio, who is now at Cardiff City, from Fluminense in 2008.
