Report: Manchester United to launch £14m bid for Torino defender Matteo Darmian

Manchester United are to launch a £14m bid for Torino and Italy defender Matteo Darmian as a replacement for Rafael, according to reports.

Manchester United have prepared a £14m bid for Torino defender Matteo Darmian, according to reports.

The Italy international, who scored five goals for the Granata last season, is widely regarded as one of Serie A's brightest prospects.

According to leading Italian sports journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Darmian is being pursued by the Red Devils as a replacement for Rafael, who is said to be on his way out of Old Trafford.

The 25-year-old, a right-back who can play across the defence, is also said to be a target for Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Napoli.
