Manchester United manager David Moyes is reportedly mulling over a decision to bid for Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini.
The Red Devils are currently focusing their efforts on trying to secure a deal for Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas, with reports of a final £35m bid being made.
However, Moyes is also keeping his options open and has a week to decide to make a £22m offer for the Belgium international to trigger his release clause, reports The Sun.
The Scot is keen to add to his squad and wants to land Fellaini, whom he bought for Everton in 2008 for £15m from Standard Liege.
United have made just one signing this summer, securing a deal for defender Guillermo Varela.
