Manchester United have reportedly missed out on another of their attacking targets as Watford have ruled out a loan exit for Ismaila Sarr.
The Red Devils' frantic search for a new wide player has stepped up since it became clear that Jadon Sancho will not be leaving Borussia Dortmund.
United are believed to have opened talks with Watford over the weekend with regards to bringing in Sarr, but transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that a move is off the cards.
That is said to be because Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men are only interested in an initial loan deal for the Senegal international, whereas the Hornets want a permanent sale.
However, United still have 11 more days to get a deal over the line for the 22-year-old, as an additional domestic window opens once the international deadline passes on Monday.
The latest blow comes on the back of speculation that a deal for Barcelona's Ousmane Dembele has also fallen through.
However, free agent striker Edinson Cavani - without a club since leaving Paris Saint-Germain at the end of last season - is thought to be on the brink of joining.
