Joao Cancelo is reportedly on his way to Manchester City as incoming Juventus boss Maurizio Sarri has sanctioned his sale.

Manchester City are reportedly close to finalising their first piece of business of the summer as Juventus have agreed to sell Joao Cancelo.

The 25-year-old has spent just one season at the Allianz Stadium, featuring 34 times in all competitions.

Italian outlet Calciomercato claims that incoming Juve boss Maurizio Sarri is prepared to sanction Cancelo's exit because of tactical reasons.

City are now expected to wrap up the transfer to add some competition for Kyle Walker at right-back.

Cancelo, capped 14 times by Portugal, has also previously been touted as a target for Manchester United.

Meanwhile, Walker is rumoured to be on the brink of signing a contract extension at the Etihad Stadium to keep him tied down until 2024.
