Report: Tom Cleverley to undergo Everton medical

A report claims that Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley has opted to join Everton over Aston Villa, and will undergo a medical today prior to a free transfer.

England international Tom Cleverley will reportedly undergo a medical at Everton today ahead of a free transfer to Goodison Park.

The 25-year-old, who is out of contract at Manchester United this summer, is said to have already agreed a five-year deal at the club.

Having spent last season on loan at Aston Villa, Cleverley was expected to make his switch to the FA Cup runners-up permanent in the coming weeks.

However, Sky Sports News claims that the Man United academy product has his heart set on a move to Everton, and he will take a giant leap closer to completing a deal when taking part in a medical this afternoon.

Cleverley has spent 15 years at Old Trafford, although he has been unable to truly hold down a regular starting berth during his senior career there.
