Paul Pogba is open to signing a new contract at Manchester United if Ralf Rangnick remains the club's head coach, according to a report.

Paul Pogba is reportedly open to signing a new contract at Manchester United if Ralf Rangnick is appointed the club's head coach on a long-term basis.

Rangnick is currently in charge of the Red Devils on an interim basis and is set to step aside for a new manager this summer, with the German taking on a consultancy role at Old Trafford.

However, a recent report claimed that the 63-year-old is being considered for the managerial role due to the team's form since his arrival in December.

Pogba - out of contract this summer - is yet to play for Rangnick due to a thigh problem but is expected to be available for selection in the early stages of February.

According to The Sun, the France international has been 'so impressed' with the German and will consider signing a new deal if he remains the club's head coach next season.

The report claims that Rangnick views Pogba as a key player for the remainder of the campaign, and a strong finish to 2021-22 could convince the World Cup winner to sign a fresh deal.

Man United will be looking to make it three wins in a row in all competitions when they face Middlesbrough in the fourth round of the FA Cup on February 4.
