Neymar has reportedly offered Lionel Messi the chance to wear the number 10 shirt at Paris Saint-Germain, as the French giants seemingly close in on the signing of the free agent.
Barcelona announced Messi's departure on Thursday night, and PSG have quickly emerged as the favourites for his signature, with the South American in line for a two-year contract in Paris.
According to RMC Sport, Neymar - a close friend and former teammate of the Barcelona legend - offered the 34-year-old the opportunity to take his number 10 shirt at Parc des Princes.
However, the report claims that Messi turned down the offer from the Brazil international.
Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United have all been credited with an interest in the experienced attacker since the news of his Camp Nou exit was announced.
However, PSG are said to be confident of signing Messi to a contract until June 2023, with his father and representative Jorge Messi preparing to meet with Mauricio Pochettino's side on Saturday.
