Manchester United are reportedly weighing up the possibility of signing Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik before the transfer window closes on October 5.
Tottenham Hotspur have been strongly linked with the Poland international, who is out of contract next summer and said to be available for £17.5m plus £6m in bonuses in the current window.
Talks with Spurs have allegedly broken down, but the 26-year-old is still expected to leave Napoli.
According to Italian journalist Ciro Venerato, United are among several teams keeping a close eye on developments as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to boost his squad over the next week.
Venerato told Radio Kiss Kiss that the 20-time English champions have held "informal talks" over a potential deal for Milik, who recently saw a proposed move to Roma break down.
The forward scored 14 times in 35 appearances at club level last season, including three goals in five Champions League outings, but he has been left out of both of Napoli's Serie A fixtures against Parma and Genoa this term.
