Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik has reportedly turned down the chance to join Tottenham Hotspur.
Spurs allegedly met with the agent of the Poland international last week in the hope of securing his signature.
According to Football Insider, Jose Mourinho's side have been locked in talks with the forward's representatives over the last 48 hours but are now likely to miss out on his signature.
The report claims that Tottenham offered a lucrative contract, but Milik was not prepared to move to the Premier League club as back up to England captain Harry Kane in the final third of the field.
The 26-year-old, who has also been strongly linked with Roma this summer, is believed to be available for an initial fee of £17.5m plus a potential £6m in bonuses.
Milik - out of contract next summer - scored 14 times in 35 appearances at club level last term but has not yet been involved for Gennaro Gattuso's side this season.
