Manchester United 'closing in on Fabinho'

Manchester United are reportedly close to securing a deal for Brazilian right-back Fabinho.

Manchester United are close to a deal for Monaco right-back Fabinho, according to media reports in Brazil.

The 22-year-old Brazil international is well-known to United boss Jose Mourinho after the pair crossed paths during Fabinho's loan spell at the Bernabeu in the 2012-13 season.

According to Globoesporte, United have made enquiries over the availability of Fabinho, who is currently valued at around £13.6m.

Should the deal go ahead, Fabinho's two youth clubs - Paulinia and Fluminense - would both be entitled to a share of the transfer fee.

Mourinho's pursuit of Fabinho could spell curtains for current first-choice right-back Matteo Darmian, who has been linked with a move to Serie A side Napoli.
