Manchester United could reportedly battle Tottenham Hotspur for the signature of Bologna centre-back Takehiro Tomiyasu during this summer's transfer window.
The 22-year-old is believed to be a target for Spurs ahead of the 2020-21 campaign, although the North London club have allegedly seen an opening offer rejected by Bologna.
According to CalcioAtalanta, Man United have made contact with the Serie A outfit to register their interest, as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side prepare to sign a new centre-back this summer.
The report claims that the English giants have not yet gone further than a 'simple phone call' when it comes to Tomiyasu, but they are keeping a close eye on the developments surrounding the defender.
The Japan international has made 63 appearances for Bologna since arriving from Sint-Truiden in 2019, including 33 outings in all competitions during the 2020-21 campaign.
West Ham United have also allegedly asked to be informed of any developments surrounding the former Avispa Fukuoka youngster.
