Atletico Madrid are reportedly well positioned to sign Marseille midfielder Boubacar Kamara this summer.
The 22-year-old's contract with his French club is due to expire at the end of June, and he is widely expected to leave Stade Velodrome in search of pastures new.
Manchester United were strongly linked with Kamara during the January transfer window, but the deadline passed with the midfielder still at Les Olympiens.
According to Goal, Atletico are now firmly at the head of the queue for the Frenchman, with the Spanish champions confident that they will win the race for his signature.
The report claims that Kamara is keen to work under Atletico head coach Diego Simeone, who is set to remain at Wanda Metropolitano despite recent claims that he could be on his way out of the club.
In addition to Man United, Bayern Munich, Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton are also believed to be interested in his services.
Kamara has again been a vital player for his French club during the 2021-22 campaign, making 36 appearances in all competitions, contributing one goal in the process.
