Manchester United head the queue for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes, according to a report.

Manchester United are reportedly at the head of the queue for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes.

Fernandes has been in terrific form for Sporting during the 2018-19 campaign, contributing 27 goals and 15 assists in 46 appearances in all competitions.

According to A Bola, United have already started 'informal talks' with the Portugal international and are expected to sign him when this summer's transfer window opens for business.

Fernandes, who is also believed to be attracting attention from AC Milan, has a release clause of £86m, but the same report has claimed that United are hopeful of paying 'significantly less'.

The attacking midfielder joined Sporting from Sampdoria in 2017 and has helped the Portuguese giants land two Taca da Liga crowns during the last two campaigns.
