Arsenal will reportedly rekindle their interest in Atletico Madrid forward Gelson Martins during the summer transfer window.
The Gunners wanted to bring the 23-year-old to the Emirates Stadium in January but failed with a loan bid and instead signed Denis Suarez on a temporary deal from Barcelona.
However, Suarez is yet to start a single game for the club, whereas Martins has scored three goals and created three more in eight appearances since joining Ligue 1 strugglers Monaco on loan.
Portuguese outlet A Bola claims that Arsenal will look to sign the winger on a permanent basis in the summer, having been impressed with his performances at the Stade Louis II.
Any deal could be complicated by an ongoing dispute with Sporting Lisbon, who are pursuing compensation of up to £86m from Atletico after Martins terminated his own contract following an incident which saw Sporting fans attack their own players at the club's training ground.
Arsenal are understood to be willing to make an offer to both clubs in order to sign the Portugal international, although any agreement would be far short of the £86m Sporting have claimed was Martins's release clause in his contract with them.
