Manchester United will reportedly sell Marcos Rojo this summer in order to help raise funds to sign Harry Maguire from Leicester City.
United boss Jose Mourinho is eager to bolster his defensive options this summer and has identified Maguire as one of his main transfer targets following the England international's impressive performances at the World Cup.
Leicester remain reluctant to lose the 25-year-old, but United are understood to be willing to test their resolve with a £65m bid in the coming days.
The Mirror reports that Mourinho has been told he will need to offload one of his existing defenders before they are able to bring Maguire to the club, though, with Rojo expected to be the player sacrificed.
Rojo signed a new three-year deal with United in March, but made just 12 appearances for the club across all competitions last season and is deemed surplus to requirements at Old Trafford.
Mourinho also has Chris Smalling, Eric Bailly, Phil Jones and Victor Lindelof as centre-back options in his squad.
