Liverpool may reportedly give consideration to trying to sign RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol during the summer transfer window.
Gvardiol is only in his second season at the Bundesliga giants and has also has a contract in place until the end of 2026-27.
Nevertheless, the 21-year-old's rapid development has led to him being linked with one of European football's giants on a seemingly monthly basis.
Chelsea were keen on the Croatia international during the summer transfer window, only for Leipzig to reject that interest from the 2021 Champions League winners.
Gvardiol has recently spoken on that transfer saga, acknowledging that he felt a sense of disappointment in failing to move to the Premier League, yet hinted that it was better for his development to remain with Leipzig.

Chelsea have recently moved to sign Benoit Badiashile, an alternative to Gvardiol, but other clubs other than the West Londoners have been credited as admirers.
Manchester City, Manchester United and Real Madrid have all been suggested as potential future destinations for the left-sided defender, and it appears that another could soon join the chase.
According to journalist David Lynch, Liverpool will likely involve themselves if it becomes apparent that Gvardiol could be on the move in the next transfer window.
Although the Merseyside giants are known to want to refresh their midfield, Jurgen Klopp's side have also struggled in defence for large parts of this season.

Speaking to the Born And Red Youtube channel, Lynch said: "I've absolutely no doubt that Liverpool will be all over Gvardiol in the summer. The Red Bull link, I know they watch them regularly and will absolutely love him.
"He says he's really keen on coming to Liverpool but it's just the price tag that could be an issue. You would have to do something in terms of moving a centre-half on for decent-ish money I think to even look at that."
Previous reports have suggested that Leipzig will demand in the region of £70m if formal proposals for Gvardiola are presented to them in the summer.
Gvardiol made headlines on Wednesday evening as he netted the equaliser in Leipzig's 1-1 draw with Manchester City in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie.
