Zlatan Ibrahimovic 'to join Manchester United on one-year deal'

Manchester United reportedly agree a deal to sign striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic on a one-year contract.

Manchester United have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic on a one-year contract.

The 34-year-old has been heavily linked with a free transfer to Old Trafford this summer having seen his contract at Paris Saint-Germain expire.

The Sweden international has previously stated his desire to play in the Premier League before the end of his career and is known to enjoy a good relationship with new Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho from their time together at Inter Milan.

Ibrahimovic had recently refused to confirm which club he would join after leaving PSG, but Sky Sports News now reports that he will become Mourinho's first signing since taking over at United.

The report goes on to claim that the Red Devils are confident of wrapping up the deal before the start of Euro 2016, where Ibrahimovic will be representing Sweden.

The former Juventus, Barcelona and AC Milan striker has won the league title in 13 of his last 15 seasons as a professional, doing so with six different clubs in four different countries.

Ibrahimovic scored a career-best 50 goals in just 51 appearances in his final season with PSG, including 38 in 31 Ligue 1 outings to fire them to a fourth straight title.

Reports earlier today suggested that United turned down the chance to sign Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy as Mourinho only wanted one new forward at the club so as not to stunt the development of Marcus Rashford.
