Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera reportedly favours staying at Old Trafford this season rather than joining French giants Paris Saint-Germain as a free agent.

Ander Herrera is reportedly hoping to agree a new deal with Manchester United, despite being offered the chance to join Paris Saint-Germain as a free agent.

The 29-year-old is due to be out of contract at the end of the season and is therefore eligible to begin negotiations with foreign clubs.

As Herrera's contract standoff drags ever closer to the reopening of the transfer window, PSG are rumoured to have made contact over an end-of-season switch.

According to The Telegraph, however, the Spanish midfielder is hopeful that a breakthrough can still be reached with United before the summer.

The Red Devils are said to have been reluctant to meet Herrera's wage demands, but he has been a key player under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and it would set them back a large amount to bring in a replacement of some sort.
