Fabio da Silva pondering Manchester United exit

Manchester United full-back Fabio da Silva says that he could leave the club in search of first-team football.

Manchester United full-back Fabio da Silva has dropped a strong hint that he could soon leave Old Trafford.

The young Brazilian, who sits behind Patrice Evra and Alexander Buttner in the pecking order at left-back, said that he may depart when the transfer window reopens.

"I think the time has come and maybe in the next window or even next season, I think I might leave. There are good possibilities," Goal.com quotes him as saying. "I'm looking for other clubs. There's nothing certain, we'll leave it for later.

"I want to be happy. I want to play, I want to be close to my family. I may go back to Brazil, or maybe not, I'm checking with my manager (David Moyes) to see what is the best for me."

The 23-year-old went on to say that there is a possibility of him returning to his former club Fluminense, whom he left for Old Trafford five years ago.

"The affection I have for Fluminense is very big, for sure. I played there for seven years, and certainly if I have to go back to Fluminense I'm going with great pride because I have a special affection for them," he said.

Fabio spent last season on loan at Queens Park Rangers.
