Eric Bailly 'will not quit Manchester United this summer'

Eric Bailly is happy to stay at Manchester United and fight for more regular playing time at centre-back, according to a report.

Manchester United centre-back Eric Bailly is reportedly "very happy" at Old Trafford and keen to stay on, despite being snubbed by boss Jose Mourinho.

The 24-year-old started two of the Red Devils' last 10 games of the season, which Mourinho put down to giving those going to the World Cup a chance to shine.

However, the Ivory Coast international was then left out of the starting lineup to face Chelsea in last Saturday's FA Cup final, leading to talk of a falling-out behind the scenes.

Contrary to previous reports, though, the Manchester Evening News claims that Bailly will not seek a move away during the transfer window and is instead ready to fight for his place at centre-back.

Bailly, left out of United's squad entirely for the games against Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal in April, joined from Villarreal in a £30m deal two years ago.
