Borussia Dortmund categorically rule out the possibility of Jadon Sancho leaving the club this summer amid speculation linking him with a £100m move to Manchester United.

Borussia Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke has categorically ruled out the possibility of Jadon Sancho leaving the club this summer.

Sancho has enjoyed a breakthrough season at the Westfalenstadion, scoring eight goals and creating a league-high 13 more in just 27 Bundesliga appearances.

Such form has earned the 19-year-old England call-ups and attracted interest from some of Europe's top clubs, with Manchester United understood to hold a particular desire to sign the former Manchester City youngster.

The Red Devils have been linked with a mammoth £100m offer after reportedly making Sancho their number one transfer target, but Watzke insists that he is going nowhere.

"We will not sell him, that is fact. It is clearly discussed with every person who is involved that Jadon plays in the next season for BVB," he told Eurosport Germany.

"His progress is brilliant. For his age he plays extremely remarkable because he does things you cannot plan like this. But we have to be careful that we do not trigger the hype. This boy just turned 19 years old.

"He is not allowed to lose a millimetre of focus because for the top players every thousandth counts. Cristiano Ronaldo has not been at the top of the world for many years because of his talent, but because of his focus no one else has.

"If Jadon proves that in the next few years, we can talk about a world career as well. At this time, we can only speak about his huge potential."

Sancho's form this season has helped Dortmund to the top of the Bundesliga table, where they lead champions Bayern Munich by two points ahead of Der Klassiker this weekend.
