Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Manchester United could line up for Sunday's Premier League clash with Newcastle United.

Manchester United should have Marcus Rashford fit and firing for their Premier League clash with Newcastle United at St James' Park on Sunday afternoon.

The England attacker withdrew from international duty with a toe problem, but he has been gradually increasing his workload in training and will likely be given the green light to play.

With Alejandro Garnacho still absent with an ankle problem, Rashford ought to take his place on the left as Wout Weghorst starts up front, although Anthony Martial could make his return to the matchday squad from a hip concern.

Two-goal FA Cup hero Bruno Fernandes and Antony should complete the attacking quartet, but Erik ten Hag is down to the bare bones in midfield, as Christian Eriksen (ankle), Donny van de Beek (knee) and Casemiro (suspended) prepare to miss out.

However, Marcel Sabitzer should recover from a knock to start, and he may be partnered by Scott McTominay, whose recent goalscoring exploits for Scotland have led to the suggestion that he could be utilised as a striker in the not-so-distant future.

Luke Shaw and Aaron Wan-Bissaka can expect to line up in the full-back areas, while Raphael Varane missed out against Fulham before the international break with a minor concern, which Ten Hag stressed was nothing serious.

The Frenchman should therefore link arms with Lisandro Martinez in front of David de Gea, whose number one position is safer than ever following a recent ankle injury to Tom Heaton.

Manchester United possible starting lineup: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Martinez, Shaw; Sabitzer, McTominay; Antony, Fernandes, Rashford; Weghorst
