Danny Welbeck will play as a lone striker for Manchester United this evening, while Ashley Young makes his debut in the Champions League.

Danny Welbeck has been chosen to lead the line for Manchester United this evening, despite reports suggesting that Dimitar Berbatov and Michael Owen were going to start at Old Trafford.

There is also a recall to the starting lineup for full-back Fabio, while Ashley Young makes his first appearance in the Champions League.

Visiting FC Basel start with a striking partnership of captain Marco Streller and Swiss international Alexander Frei.
