Adnan Januzaj, Will Keane net doubles for Manchester United's Under-21s

Adnan Januzaj and Will Keane help themselves to two goals apiece as Manchester United's Under-21 team overcome Southampton.

Adnan Januzaj and Will Keane both scored braces as Manchester United's Under-21 side recorded a 4-0 victory over their Southampton counterparts tonight.

It was Januzaj, who was making a first appearance since his loan stint with Borussia Dortmund was cut short, that broke the deadlock in the first half with a driven shot from 20 yards out.

Keane claimed his first goal of the evening shortly after the restart when he nodded in Guillermo Varela's cross, before he made it 3-0 from the penalty spot after Januzaj had been fouled by Jack Stephens.

As the game drew to a close Januzaj scored his second and United's fourth goal in the 79th minute with a left-footed strike that got the better of visiting goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga.

There have been suggestions that the Belgian playmaker will be included in the senior United squad this weekend when they also take on the Saints at Old Trafford.
