Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha has said that former Manchester United manager David Moyes told him to stop doing tricks and "keep the ball" instead.
The 23-year-old made four appearances under the Scot in the first half of the 2013-14 season, before being sent to Cardiff City on loan in January 2014.
Zaha frequently demonstrated his skills at Crystal Palace, where he scored 18 goals in 143 appearances before moving to Old Trafford, but the two-cap England international suggests that Moyes wanted to rein in the winger's flair.
"Under David Moyes I had to adjust my game," Zaha told Soccer AM. "Certain managers want a trustworthy player, someone that will always keep the ball.
"But he was the only one who told me to stop some of the tricks and keep the ball in certain areas. So I tried to adjust my game then."
Moyes was relieved of his duties as Real Sociedad head coach last week, having spent a year in charge of the Spanish outfit.
