Louis van Gaal: 'Robin van Persie can play better'

Louis van Gaal has said that Robin van Persie can still "play better" after the forward netted in Manchester United's 3-0 win over Hull City.

Louis van Gaal has admitted that he was "pleased" to see Robin van Persie end his goal drought in Manchester United's 3-0 victory over Hull City.

However, Van Gaal has said that there is still room for improvement in Van Persie's game and has urged his Dutch compatriot to "play better"

"Every striker needs a goal. When you don't score for the last two or three matches, you need a goal," Van Gaal told reporters.

"So I'm very pleased and happy for him that he scored his goal but I'm sure that he can play better than today."

Van Perise has netted four times in 12 appearances for the Red Devils this term.
