Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag is confident that Rasmus Hojlund will score goals for the club in the Premier League.

Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag is certain that Rasmus Hojlund will score goals for the Red Devils in the Premier League.

The 20-year-old has netted three times for the 20-time English champions since his arrival from Italian outfit Atalanta BC during the summer transfer window.

All three of Hojlund's goals have come in the Champions League, though, and he is yet to get off the mark in the Premier League, drawing another blank against Sheffield United on Saturday in what was his sixth appearance in England's top flight.

Ten Hag has no concerns when it comes to the Denmark international's ability to find the back of the net in the Premier League, insisting that he will soon hit the goal trail in the division.

"It is not a concern [that Rasmus Hojlund hasn't scored in the Premier League]. He is scoring for Denmark, he is scoring for us in the Champions League so he will score for us also in the Premier League," Ten Hag told reporters.

"I have no doubts about that. Today he was two or three times in a very good spot. There will come his moment and he will finish."

Hojlund was substituted in the 63rd minute of Saturday's 2-1 win over Sheffield United, and Ten Hag has said that the forward's minutes 'must be managed' this season for fitness reasons.

"You see he [Hojlund] plays often. But the idea behind this, we have to manage his game minutes. But it is also internal competition to give others the opportunity," he said.

"But definitely, we have to manage his game minutes. Coming up [there are] many games. We are now in October but until the end of the season [there are] so many games.

"We need everyone on board and we need everyone sharp and to keep him sharp. If I see the programme for the coming weeks we have to swap during games, between games, otherwise we don't keep the energy and we don't keep the focus in the team.

"Also we want to do something with subs to bring a new energy in the team and also from a tactical approach, you want to do something."

Hojlund's debut for Man United came against Arsenal at the start of September, as he was absent in the early stages of the season due to a back problem which he suffered during pre-season.

The Dane is now first pick through the middle despite his limited experience, with Anthony Martial currently being forced to accept a back-up role.

Hojlund will go in search of his fourth Champions League goal of the campaign when Man United welcome Copenhagen to Old Trafford on Tuesday night.
