Schalke are planning to offer Klaas-Jan Huntelaar a new deal.
The Dutch international has been linked with a move to Manchester United, but reports claim that the Bundesliga outfit are preparing a contract worth £17.5m to keep the striker.
Huntelaar, who has scored 37 goals in 36 appearances this season, would pocket £5.8m per season if he puts pen-to-paper on the deal, which would tie him to the club until 2015, Goal.com reports.
The Dutchman's current contact expires at the end of next season, but Manchester United are expected to table a bid for his services this summer.
Huntelaar joined Schalke from AC Milan in 2010. He has scored 31 goals in 50 appearances for Holland.
