Wayne Rooney criticises the decision that saw Manchester United travel to Everton for a 12pm kick-off.

Wayne Rooney has criticised the decision to make Everton and Manchester United kick-off at 12pm this afternoon.

The striker started for United as they went on to record a 1-0 victory at Goodison Park.

However, despite taking maximum points from the fixture, Rooney has raised his concerns over the start time.

"Just have to say 12 o'clock kick off is no good for players," he wrote on Twitter. "Trying to force pasta down at 9 in the morning is not nice."

Although no official reason has been given for the kick-off time, it is believed that it was decided after Everton sought advice from the police.
