Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly rejected the chance to return to Manchester United prior to joining Juventus from Real Madrid in the summer.
The Portuguese forward departed Madrid in July after nine trophy-laden years at the Bernabeu, allegedly because of a frustration at not being made the world's highest-paid player.
Spanish outlet El Mundo suggests that Ronaldo had the choice of three other clubs, though, with United - where he spent six years earlier in his career - among those to have made contact.
Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan are also said to have been in the running, but Ronaldo rejected the latter because they no longer challenge for major honours, while PSG's interest came too late in the day and was considered too much of a gamble.
Ronaldo has scored three goals in eight appearances for Juventus since joining in a deal worth £99m.
