Jose Mourinho has held talks with Chinese billionaire Hui Ka Yan about becoming the next manager of Guangzhou Evergrande, according to a report.

Former Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly in discussions to take over as the next head coach of Guangzhou Evergrande.

The Portuguese has been out of work since being sacked by United in December following the club's worst start to a season in 28 years.

Mourinho has been pictured holding talks with Hui Ka Yan, the richest man in China, and The Telegraph reports that his return to management could come in the Chinese Super League.

Hui is chairman of the Evergrande Group and he apparently wants to recruit the 56-year-old in an attempt to raise the standard and profile of football in the Far East.

The same report suggests that the China national team job is another possibility for Mourinho, who recently revealed that he will consider managing a country for his next job.
